Due to the unprecedented pace of development and encroachment on Haudenosaunee Six Nations lands within the Haldimand Tract, the people of the Grand River Territory reclaimed former Douglas Creek Estates (DCE), now known as “Kanonhstaton” in a unified stance on February 28th, 2006.

As a result of the Reclamation, the voice of the people was adamant that the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council (HCCC) have the lead in the land rights negotiations with the Crown.

These negotiations are occurring at the Oneida Business Park within the Six Nations Territory every two weeks.  These negotiation meetings are open to Haudenosaunee Six Nations people who are encouraged to witness these history-making negotiations.
